COMPEL CEOs Member to Exhibit in “Artists United Against Breast Cancer”
From August 30th to October 31, 2015, North Shore Art Guild, Inc., in cooperation with The Village of Port Jefferson, The Port Jefferson Conservancy and Mather Memorial Hospital will be presenting, “Artists United Against Breast Cancer,” an Art exhibition and Breast Cancer Victory celebration Benefiting Fortunato Breast Health Care Center at Mather Hospital, Port Jefferson. The exhibit’s theme, “Victors of Survival” is not just about breast cancer. It’s about personal transformation, the person one becomes having faced the experience. It’s about the emergence of the warrior within, and the struggle that brings it forth.
COMPEL CEO member, Lynellen Nielsen (www.lynellennielsenart.com) a member of North Shore Art Guild, is pleased to exhibit ‘Grace’, a portrait of her best friend, Grace Gharib, who died from breast cancer in August of 2012. “Going through six years of treatment with Grace allowed me to experience some of the most beautiful and heartbreaking moments of my life. I hope this piece communicates the beauty of her soul during her struggle.”
The Fortunato Breast Center was created in response to a need to provide Long Island women with a state of the art breast health care option in a surrounding that offered a sense of comfort, privacy and respect. Their trained health care professionals provide regular mammograms, expert follow up care, patient education and a full spectrum of support groups. If you’d like to join NSAG in this celebration of survival, there are still sponsorship opportunities available. Go to http://northshoreartguild.com/Sponsorship2%20levels.htm for more information.
